The sustainable, cost-effective alternative for polystyrene.

Wool is the best natural insulator on the planet. Our packaging solutions are made from 100% wool sealed inside a choice of either a home-compostable or recyclable food-grade film. We use wool from crossbred sheep, raised for their meat rather than their fleece. This wool is unsuitable for textiles and ordinarily destined for landfill, Planet Protector has monetised this waste stream to support Australian farmers. Our product is manufactured locally in Victoria, with a clean and transparent supply chain.

WOOLPACK is also cost-effective. Delivered flat-packed, it saves up to 80% in warehouse space, translating to fewer pallet movements, reduced labour costs, and greater operational efficiency. Wool’s natural impact resistance and flame-retardant properties further enhance safety and reliability, offering a superior alternative to highly flammable polystyrene. With WOOLPACK, sustainability, safety, and cost-efficiency go hand in hand.

How to dispose of WOOLPACK

At Planet Protector, we believe the end of a product’s life should mark the beginning of something new and regenerative. That’s why every component of our 100% Wool, WOOLPACK solution is thoughtfully designed to align with circular economy principles, ensuring a seamless journey from use to purposeful disposal, avoiding landfill entirely.

WOOLPACK Liner

Our wool liners are 100% biodegradable and compostable. Once separated from their recyclable or compostable film sleeves, the wool naturally breaks down in soil, enriching it with essential nutrients such as nitrogen, carbon, and sulphur. Our WOOLPACK 100% wool liners are naturally home compostable, breaking down within 3 to 6 months!

WOOLPACK Compostable Film

Depending on the customer’s requirements, we offer the option of a recyclable or compostable film. Once removed from our wool liners, our compostable film is certified to both AS 4736-2006 and AS 5810-2010 standards, verifying it as commercially and home-compostable.

WOOLPACK Recyclable Film

Depending on the customer’s requirements, we offer a recyclable or compostable film. Once removed from our Wool liner, our recyclable HDPE film can be kerbside recycled depending on your local council requirements.
